DMAC consultancy provides free medical care to over 9,000 people from Tamale, Sagnarigu and Tolon districts
Dmac consultancy has provided free medical services to some selected basic and Senior High Schools in the three districts of the northern region. Students from three basic schools from the beneficiary districts, Tolon model school, Nuriyya Islamic school and Bagabaga annex were screened and provided with prescribed medicine.
Three senior high schools, that is the Vitin Senior High Technical School, Tolon SHS, Northern School of Business (NOBISCO) were also examined by health professionals comprises physicians, public experts and nurse practitioners.
Over 9,000 people are expected to benefit from the three days exercise took place at the Sagnarigu, Tamale chief priest (Tindana) and Tolon Naa palaces.
The purpose of the exercise was to identify and treat common conditions that affect the people and also a way of giving back to society.
Common health conditions among people observed during the screening were high blood pressure, hypoglycemia, malaria, candidiasis among SHS students and personal hygiene related health issues.
Program lead at Dmac consultancy, organizers of the exercise, Ms Yaa Boamah Nyarko, told Zaa News the objective of the exercise was to bring healthcare to the door steps to the people, especially the elderly and the school children.
The free healthcare she explained was also part of post covid 19 recovery management to help people who were affected financially and could not seek healthcare service.
Senior Nurse Practitioner and public health expert, Mr Gibson Anankanbil attributed the conditions including respiratory tract infections, chlamydia infections among the people to self-medication and not adhering health professional advice.
He advised the people to always seek healthcare service at the various hospitals for proper attention.
