Seven persons have reportedly gang raped about 18-years old girl from Mongoase, a farming community near Zabzugu in the northern region. The victim is reported to have gone through a marathon of sex in the hands of the suspects against her will.
She was on her way from the community to Zabzugu market when the first suspect offered her a lift on a motor bike after short conversation between them.
The suspect instead of heading towards the market rather went to his house.
The victim (name withheld) said she suspected she might have been dazed by a drink the suspect gave her in his room.
An alarm was raised by the victim after she regained her consciousness attracting neighbors to come to her rescue.
Six were identified and were subsequently summoned to the Yelizoli palace. They reportedly confessed to have carried out the act.
Out of the five suspects who appeared at the Yelizoli Naa’s Palace, one managed to escaped leaving four behind.
The four were handed over to the Zabzugu district police who have since transferred them to the Yendi division pal police for further investigation. Zabzugu district police commander, Mr Clement Senanu who confirmed the incident to Zaa News said the case is under investigation.
