Zabzugu — The Member of Parliament for Zabzugu Constituency, Hon. Alhaji Alhassan Umar, together with the District Chief Executive, Hon. George Lakoba Tanei, has conducted an extensive inspection of ongoing development projects across the constituency, reaffirming government’s commitment to delivering on its campaign promises to the people.
The inspection tour, held yesterday, covered key health and education infrastructure projects currently under construction in several communities. The projects include the construction of CHPS Compounds at Poagmado and Mbebodoo, a Maternity Ward at Gor Tani, a six-unit classroom block at Omoaldo, and a three-unit classroom block at Worribogu.

The projects, according to officials, were initiated in response to specific requests made by community members during the campaign period, underscoring what the leadership describes as a people-centred approach to development.
Speaking during the tour, Hon. Alhaji Alhassan Umar said the inspection was part of efforts to ensure that development is equitably distributed and that no community in Zabzugu is left behind. He emphasized that the government remains focused on strengthening healthcare delivery, improving access to quality education, and expanding access to safe drinking water across the constituency.
“Our responsibility does not end with awarding contracts. We must be present, monitor progress, and ensure that the people get real value from these projects,” the MP stated.
The District Chief Executive, Hon. George Lakoba Tanei, commended the President for his continued support for development initiatives in the constituency. He assured residents that the Assembly would intensify supervision and monitoring to ensure that contractors adhere strictly to project specifications and complete all works within agreed timelines.

The inspection exercise assessed the pace of work, quality of construction, and contractors’ compliance with contractual obligations. Contractors were cautioned to maintain high standards of professionalism and deliver projects that meet approved technical requirements.
Chiefs and residents of the beneficiary communities expressed appreciation to the President, the MP, and the DCE for responding to their needs and turning campaign-time assurances into concrete development projects.
The tour, according to officials, reflects the government’s broader governance philosophy of accountability, inclusiveness, and results-oriented leadership, as Zabzugu Constituency continues to witness visible improvements in social infrastructure.
As the projects near completion, residents say they remain hopeful that the interventions will significantly improve healthcare access, enhance teaching and learning conditions, and contribute to the overall socio-economic development of the area.
