More Defect From NDC in Tamale South

0

Barely a week after over one hundred supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) defected to join the Convention Peoples' Party, another fifty members have joined the defection bandwagon.
Even though the latest group has not indicated which party it would join, it has served notice that its members  have quit the NDC over unfulfilled promises.
At a news conference at Kobilmahigu, a surbub of Tamale, members of the Kobilmahigu Tiyumba Youth Association said the NDC government has deviated from its promises to the electorates, adding there is no hope in the government fulfilling its campaign promises.
The chairman of the association, Dauda Issah said their decision to quit the party was informed by the inability of government and the MP for the area to meet their demands.
He said the MP, Iddrisu Haruna has not visited the area since last year.
Mr. Issah lamented that the Kobilmahigu community has no access roads and quality water and the electricity situation in the community was disheartening.
He added that the group therefore saw no reason why it should continue to support the NDC government.
Secretary of the association, Fuseini Zakaria Napari said no member of the community was enrolled in the National Youth Employment Program (NYEP).
He said the association would remain neutral and would support only those who were willing to help them.]]>
