The National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has expressed profound appreciation to party executives, grassroots supporters, and campaign volunteers in the Northern Region for their immense contribution to the party’s victory in the last general elections.
Speaking during his “Thank You Tour” in the Zabzugu Constituency, Mr. Asiedu Nketia commended party faithful from the branch level to the constituency hierarchy for their dedication and sacrifices, which he said contributed significantly to the NDC’s decisive electoral triumph and supermajority in Parliament.

Addressing a large gathering of supporters, youth groups, elders, and party executives, the NDC National Chairman called on members of the party to remain patient as the government works toward creating sustainable employment opportunities, particularly self-employment avenues for the youth.
According to him, the government remains committed to stabilizing the economy and improving livelihoods across the country.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia further urged supporters in the Zabzugu Constituency to remain united and continue working tirelessly ahead of the 2028 General Elections.
“We are not going to yield this seat to the NPP. The NDC will continue to maintain its strength in Zabzugu and retain the constituency for the governing party,” he stated confidently.
He also used the occasion to acknowledge the sacrifices made by ordinary party supporters during the electioneering period. He emphasized that while some supporters contributed financially to the campaign, many others who lacked the means still dedicated their time, energy, and influence to canvass for votes from one community to another.
The NDC Chairman noted that several supporters endured insults, intimidation, and difficult conditions while campaigning for the party but remained resolute in their commitment to securing victory.
The event attracted a massive turnout, which party executives described as a clear demonstration of the NDC’s unity and growing popularity in the constituency ahead of the next electoral cycle.

The atmosphere at the gathering was marked by excitement and celebration, with the popular NDC “Kpatirikpa” dance taking center stage. Several party executives and government officials joined supporters on the dance floor in a symbolic display of solidarity and appreciation.
Among the personalities who joined the dance floor were the District Chief Executive for Tatale, Hon. Merry Tagba; the Municipal Chief Executive for Yendi, Hon. Sugri Muniru; the Zabzugu Constituency NDC Chairman, Alhaji Alidu Bawa; the Constituency Communications Officer, Sadiq Gunu; and the Constituency Youth Organizer, Imoro Toyibu.
Party leaders at the event reiterated their commitment to strengthening the party’s grassroots structures and mobilizing supporters toward another electoral victory in 2028.
